Bytes & Rights:
Charting Legal Frontiers in Tech
In an era defined by rapid technological advancements, our legal landscape is continuously shaped by the intricate interplay between the law and evolving technologies. This symposium seeks to explore and dissect key areas at the nexus of law and technology. As technology becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, the legal framework surrounding it requires careful consideration and adaptation to ensure the protection of individuals' constitutional and civil rights.
Our Fall Symposium will delve into legal issues influenced by technology. We encourage writers to explore issues with how novel advancements in technology can influence different areas of the law including Fourth Amendment jurisprudence, intellectual property, environmental regulations, anti-discrimination protections, and national security laws. Join us as we embark on a journey to explore the ever-evolving landscape where law and technology converge. Through insightful discussions and collaborative exploration, this symposium aims to contribute to the development of a nuanced and adaptive legal framework that navigates the complexities of our technologically-driven society
Submissions will be due the day of our in-person symposium. Notes should be around 2000 words, but no longer than 4000. Submissions need not be written exclusively for the symposium; they can be papers written for course credit if they relate to the theme in a significant way.
